Investigation into South Africa lottery after winning numbers are 5,6,7,8,9 and 10
A unique draw for the South African National Lottery
In an unprecedented event in the South African National Lottery, six consecutive numbers from 5 to 9 were drawn, while the powerball number came out as 10.
“I have all the drawing results for more than 180 state and international Lotto games, going back more than 50 years! Even five consecutive numbers is a very rare occurrence that, in most Lotto games, has never happened once,” SA Lottery said.
Due to an almost unrealistic coincidence, 20 people are now claiming a share of the lottery jackpot. SA Lottery officials admitted that six consecutive numbers is indeed a unique occurrence, however, very many players choose consecutive numbers for draws.
South Africa’s National Lotteries Commission’s spokesperson said an investigation into the incident has been launched. The regulator is expected to produce a detailed report on the possible causes of the incident.
